Military criminal defense lawyer Anthony Villalobos graduated law school in 2012, and instantly found himself in the courtroom, taking cases to trial and getting not guilty verdicts. He graduated from Chicago-Kent, a top five trial advocacy law school. Of his graduating class, Anthony Villalobos was the first to be admitted to the Federal Trial Bar because of how many trials he did as a Chicago criminal defense attorney right out of law school. However, after three years of practicing law, Anthony Villalobos wanted to do something different before he got too old, so he enlisted in the U.S. Army, as it was the only guaranteed way to try out for the 75th Ranger Regiment. After three years and two deployments as a Forward Observer at 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Anthony walked out of A Co. 3/75, went back to Chicago for the weekend, and reported to JAG Corps training back at Fort Benning that next Monday. After five years of JAG Corps practice, seeing every angle of the military justice system, Anthony left the Army and returned to Chicago to head back to private criminal defense practice.

Criminal defense lawyer Purav Bhatt met attorney Anthony Villalobos in 2014. There was an overlap between Purav Bhatt’s criminal defense work and the civil litigation trial work Anthony Villalobos focused in.
